Starting off the week we went to Great Lakes Crossings, the largest mall in Michigan. It's like a mile to walk around. It was fun and a great way to spend our preparation day. That's where I got my cool new shirt :) That evening we sat outside and had a lesson with our investigator M, we taught enduring to the end, one of the last commandments we had to teach her. The lesson went great and she accepted everything and is on route to baptism. Then we called a potential investigator and he hung up on us because he was in the middle of watching some games shows!
In the morning we had interviews with President Cleveland and they were on time what a blessing. Normally we wait like an hour to get in but things were on time today. We came back home for lunch and then contacted till we emailed home that evening. (Monday was Memorial day so had to email home Tuesday)
Wednesday was M's baptism interview but before that we had district meeting. The interview went well, she passed with an A+ then we exchanged, Elder Wolfe, Elder Clayden & I taught her learning and serving in the church. It went great, she is ready to accept a calling! Then we had an hour haul back to Port Huron. For lunch we stopped in at little Ceasers and got the Detroit Special (its a $5 hot and ready covered in butter and parmesan) It's great! We went and talked to people that evening and after dinner we talked to tons of people and even set up some great appointments. We even walked alongside Canada on the USA side. Tonight I crashed, I was so tired.
The next day we were wondering what we should do then we got a referral so we contacted him... but he was not home so they will try again later. This evening we saw M our investigator and had a great lesson with her and continued her on her path to baptism. It was in general a great day.
Friday for weekly planning we called like 60+ people to invite them to the baptism on Sunday morning, there should be a good turn out. Tonight someone took us out for dinner. We went to a Mexican joint and Elder Wolfe took the challenge of the El Grito... a 5 pound plate with a big burrito and nachos all around but he couldn't do it, he was close though.
The next day was the Funeral service for our ward mission leader. While waiting I was pondering how come the word "funeral" has the word "fun" ...maybe because it is a fun time because we know the truth on where people go after they die, feel free to send me your input. The service was a great one and it really reflected and celebrated his life. It was a great day. Later we went to a graduation dinner party and then saw our investigator and finalized some small details before her baptism the next morning.
Sunday, THE BAPTISM! It was great, there was over 60 members of the ward attending and even some of her family. It was amazing and the Spirit was great. This scripture I think reflects "baptism" 2nd Nephi 9:41
